I'm Marlena Jane Geller, and I help beauty brands all over the world grow into the brands they have been destined to become. I have been doing this since Pete and Ariana and the Queer Eye revival over 5 years ago. I have had the privilege of working with small businesses that have grown from the work like FRÉ Skincare, Ilios Lighting, Milkshake Haircare, and more.
FRÉ Skincare and I had huge gains such as daily content curation and execution, plus coordinating monumental collaborations such as FRÉ X Athleta, which would go on to have multiple secondary collaborations, including a handful of sets that were sold out within days.
Ilios Lighting, the Rolls Royce of beauty light products, is co-founded by world-renowned MakeupByMario (do I even have to connect that he is Kim's makeup artist? You should know that). The brand needed education to explain the features and the wow factors, alongside consulting and beauty PR help. We got the light in hands like Jen Atkin of Ouai, Laney of Saie, and Mara of Mara Beauty. The brand went on to collaborate with benefit at an in-person event using the strategies taught during our time together.
Milkshake haircare is a salon-backed brand that comes from Italy. Through ongoing content and reigniting the community, we were able to kickstart engagement efforts that would be utilized going forward. Plus, we connected and partnered them with brands like Nadaré Co, Bruush, and Ghost Democracy.
I have a degree in Communication with a focus on Interpersonal Relationships with a minor in Education from the University of Kansas, Rock Chalk.
"Marlena masters social media communication both on the technical and creative sides," said Mickael Bensadoun, the Co-Founder of FRÉ Skincare. A bit of backstory: I began as an intern and was presented with an opportunity to continue freelancing as a marketing consultant as I graduated my senior year of college -- and everything blossomed from there.
"Marlena combines exceptional creativity with an impressive capacity to deliver. She takes initiative, is an amazing team player, her communication skills are excellent, and she masters social media communication both on the technical and creative sides. She is a highly reliable person always looking to improve and give her very best. I highly recommend Marlena!"
From startups to brands that lack social media presence, myself and my team are the ones to go in, audit what is and isn't working, and then set up a strategy for success before offloading the execution to us. Yep, we've got this on lock.
You have funding, distribution, product development, and so much more on your mind, busy beauty business owner. So, when it comes to social media and beauty PR, let's take off the extra pressure and outsource it.
But that means handing off your baby to someone else, and that can be daunting.
Still, you know that to grow and be successful, you have to find a designer, copywriter, editor, ops manager, and so much more just to show up on social media and do justice to your brand and vision.
Maybe you've tried to hand off your social media before, and it didn't go the way you hoped. Or perhaps you've been burning the candle at both ends doing it yourself, and regardless of your situation, you're exhausted. By the time you've caught onto what's trending, it has already passed before you even get to execution.
Do you wish you could have your social handled with a wand?
Just swish and flick and it's up there, doing well and engaging your target audience...
Well, you are in just the right spot, badass beauty business owner!
That's right where I come in.
Think Mia Thermopolis in Princess Diaries, and when Palo says:
"Because only Paolo can take this, and this, and give you..."
"A princess."
